More Autumn Moodiness
Well, despite having our first snowfall here on December the 2nd, the calendar says it is still Autumn in New York. And since the picture I posted in answer to John Scalzi's moody picture challenge was such a hit, I post two other photos taken on or around the same time.
I often walk home from the subway and my route takes me around Woodlawn Cemetery. I took both these pictures on my walk home.

Autumn Moonrise Over Woodlawn
This is facing north along Jerome Avenue/the Woodlawn Road with the cemetery on the right hand (east) side. Across on the west side of the street is Van Cortlandt Park, and the municipal golf course; the first public golf course in the U.S.

Woodlawn Steeple
There is a non-denominational chapel near the Woodlawn Road Gate entrance to the cemetery, which has a very pleasing and well-balanced steeple. I'm glad I caught this picture when I did, as the steeple is now completely surrounded by scaffolding.
