Sketch of the Week 25: Olympus Mons Diner

This sketch, done in a convention program from Boskone, is one of the ideas I have for paintings with fannish themes based on masterworks by other artists. I am hoping to do a painting based on David Hockney's painting of Mount Fuji:
which is one of my favorite paintings in the world. I don't love all of Hockney's paintings, but I sure love this one. The "Olympus Mons Diner" is a bit of a New York in-joke, since it seems every other coffee shop and diner is named "Mount Olympus" here and they all have those coffee cups.
This is not the sketch I originally planned to put up here. I originally had planned to put up a sketch of my foot in its cast and boot. (Strange, I know, but bear with me....) However, the scanner I used here at my office has been replaced by a new, fancy, shiny, all bells and whistles, printer/scanner/copier -- which does not scan color jpegs. This is going to put a serious, serious cramp in my promise to post lots of new stuff to the site. Without the color scanner, none of my sketches or drawings will come out the way they're meant to be seen.
I'll try to use up some of the sketches I've scanned in previously and we'll see what else can be done. I'll keep you informed.

Bonnie~ Email me with your operating system... I have an extra scanner that I would happily send your way if it plays nicely with your equipment.
