Title: Next Year in Jerusalem

I have always been very fortunate in my friends. Back in the late 70s and early 80s, when I was practicing Judaism, Ruth and Reuben Feierman, their family, friends, and their synagogue took me in, gave me a good Jewish home and invited me to every holiday dinner and became like a second family to me. In return, I made many paintings and gifts of Judaic items for them. Sadly, both of them have passed away, and the items of Judaica that I gave them were all returned to me. I've held onto them for quite a while, but now that I no longer practice Judaism (or any other religion), I feel they would be better off in new Jewish homes. So I'm offering up various items for sale at what I consider reasonable prices, just so they find new places.

COMMENTS: In this picture, I feature the items of the Passover Seder, the dinner that takes place on the first two nights of Passover. It is conducted according to the ritual set down in the Haggadah, a book that tells the story of Moses leading the Jews out of Egypt and into the desert. There are several items used at the Seder, each symbolizing some portion of the Exodus from Egypt and the wandering of the Hebrews: the matzoh; salt water, four cups of wine, the roasted egg, a lamb shank, bitter herbs (usually horseradish and romaine lettuce), charoset ( a sweet mix of apples, matzoh meal and other spices), and a vegetable such as celery or a boiled potato for dipping in the salt water. In the background is the Western Wall of the Second Temple, sometimes called The Wailing Wall, which is situated at heart of Jerusalem. Each recitation of the Haggadah ends with the expression (prayer, cry or toast) "Next Year in Jerusalem!" That is what the Hebrew letters say on the right hand side.
