New Topic! Local Art Fridays

Fridays seem to be the day for the internet blogging community to come together and blog about one specific topic: Cats. Now, I love Friday Cat Blogging, and just to prove it, I will post here a picture of my cat, Nualla.

Nualla is now my only cat since her brother passed away in June. You can see by the gleam in her eyes that she is a Limb of Satan, and tortures me frequently, as she did her poor brother Nemo while he was with us. I doubt I'll do much posting of photos of cats, unless they are particularly artistic photos. Sometime in the future, perhaps, I shall post sketches, drawings and paintings of cats. Perhaps.

In the meantime, let us turn our focus to Local Art. I live and work in New York City. One day, while strolling around at lunch time in an area of no more than 5 or 6 blocks, I suddenly realized: Hey! There's Art everywhere! It's all around me! I'm soaking in it!

So, I thought, this would be a kind of neat Friday topic -- at least until I run out of art in my immediate office neighborhood. Then, maybe I'll start on the art hanging on the walls of my firm's offices. Some of it is hideous -- but it is Art -- with a capital "A".

The first entry in Local Art Fridays was the inspiration for the topic:

This scooter was parked right around the corner from my office, outside the Lever House building. The Lever House is on Park Avenue between 54th and 53rd Streets and has an entire courtyard and lower level devoted to displays of art. Some of it is strange and controversial, but there's always something to look at. Even the ceiling was an artwork at the tme I took these photos:

Happy Friday! See Art. Make Art. Love Art.
