COMMENTS: This past weekend started the Chinese New Year -- Year of the Pig (or Boar).
In honor of the occasion I did this piece, which I brought with me to the Boskone art show. It didn't sell, but did get a few compliments. In the Chinese zodiac, the zodiac signs are strictly calendar based, each sign getting its turn in a 12 year cycle. So, for example, if you were born from February in 1983 to February 1984, you're basically a Pig, no matter what month you were born; 1977, you're a Dragon, and so on through the 12 year cycle. It's no more accurate and just as silly as the western zodiac system, but it makes for fun art and clever gifts for your friends when you can't think of anything else to get them.
