No Collographs For You!
I can't believe this! It's like a plot of some kind. First, I can't find my little sketchbook with all my sketches and notes for pictures I'd planned on doing for the WorldCon art show. Which is particularly frustrating. But I worked on other pieces while I continue looking for the damned thing. I made 4 plates for collographs, which I planned to print specifically for this show. I pre-colored the paper and did some other preparation work, as well as buy the inks from www.waterbasedinks.com I got my bag all loaded up with the necessary equipment and called the day before to make sure there was no class scheduled for the next night, as instructed by the membership rules.
No classes. No printing. The place is closed until September sometime. Now, nowhere -- let me emphasize that -- NOWHERE on the website, or in the brochures does it say the Manhattan Graphics Center takes a two month holiday during the summer. I'm really annoyed and as soon as someone comes back, they're going to hear about it.
But in the meantime...
In the meantime, I have to come up with 4 pieces of art to replace the four I had prepared to make and sell, as well as either go ahead with the other paintings I have no notes for, or come up with some new ones.
Hi, diddlee dee, the artist's life for me!
Any themes or ideas out there? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

OK, ideas...
1. I am partial to your Celtic designs, but that's just me...
2. Being a Sci-type Con, with the recent resurgence in Dr. Who there is probably some fan art you could do, but that would be pretty limiting.
3. Why not do your own tribute to the endangered art you mentioned?

1. I know you Celtic types! I do have some celtic based art already.
2. While I am madly in love with the whole new Doctor Who series, I am trying to steer away from doing very fan-based art.
3. Excellent idea! I may work on that. Thanks, Colleen.
